15 months

Dear Ryan & Kaitlyn-
15 months already! Time is moving so fast as are the things you are learning to do.

Ryan- You are taking more and more steps each day. You can easily walk across a room but continue to choose crawling as your mode of transportation. You do however love to play the "come to mommy/daddy" game when you walk to us and fall into our arms. Mommy finally had to install locks on all the drawers and cabinets as opening them and taking everything out is your new favorite past time. And yes, I did say mommy. Sorry daddy, but I tend to be more "mechanically inclined'. I am the one who gets excited over a new drill. You got 3 new teeth in the past few weeks bringing your total up to 8. As of tonight, you will no longer be on the bottle since you have mastered the sippy cup. You are even drinking with a straw. It makes mommy sad because it truly makes you seem like a toddler but so proud of your milestone achievements. You continue to verbalize a lot and are very expressive. You haven't said any new words but your new favorite sound is "sssst". Daddy taught you to do "touchdown" during a recent football game. Oh, I am still waiting for "ma-ma". I know it's in there monkey! I will continue to be happy with the hugs and kisses you give though. You imitate a lot more and when we give you the brush you will brush your hair or when you hold the thermometer you will put it to your head in attempt to take your temperature. In the last month you have started to play independently. You will actually sit still and look at a book. We have started playing some Baby Einstein DVD's for you and your sister. Since you were a baby, the only one that would calm you was "world animals". Now when mommy says "do you want to see animals?" you excitedly bounce on your knees and make a cute "mm-mm" sound. You do show a temper when you don't get your way and bite your sister more than I would like to admit. Oh, and could you stop feeding the dog your food! We love you Monkey!

Katie-You are quite the little princess. If you could say "Up", which is the word we are currently working on, you would say it 100x a day. You love to be held and you love to be up on the couch with mommy and daddy. You will stand up and try to get on the couch with a constant "mmmmmm" until you are up. You are a professional furniture walker. You love to climb the steps and even get mad if I pick you up in the middle of your quest. You continue to make progress with your PT and we love to watch you walk across the room using a walking toy. Over the past month your molars came in bringing your grand total of teeth to 12. The molars took a toll on you in the form of a fever and crabbiness. You refuse to drink out of a sippy cup unless it has a straw. You have become more picky with your food and like you brother, you throw it on the floor to Daisy. If you could eat watermelon for all 3 meals a day, you would be the happiest baby on the block. You hate to have your face cleaned and your nails cut. You get mad at Ryan when he gets in your way and push him away. On the other hand, he makes you laugh when he crawls by you really fast. Your favorite thing to do is to climb all over Daddy and you continue to love to chase Daisy. As Ryan takes toys out of a basket, you spend time putting them back. You started to point out body parts although on some days every part is your "ears". Your big, brown eyes make our days even brighter. We love you.
