Sometimes I find it hard to believe myself but we are finally making the move...off Long Island!!
Our new hometown will be Buford, Georgia. Matt and I have wanted to make the move off LI since before we got married. We even had a realtor set up in the Carolina's and then dad got sick, passed away, babies were born... and life happened. Last summer when we made the trip to Georgia, we decided let's go for it. And here we are.
Things happened pretty quick. Matt applied for some positions with Lowe's and other companies. He was offered a management position with Lowe's in Snelville, GA. The only downside was he had to be there by the beginning of May which meant we would be separated as a family. I am not going to lie, it hasn't been easy. Truthfully, I'm exhausted. Between daily life, school, kids activities, Girl Scouts work, and oh, packing a house, I've been pretty busy to say the least. We miss Matt terribly but, fortunately, things like FaceTime help us get through. We are expecting to close on our house here in the beginning in July. For now, we will be doing a short-term lease and when I secure a job, we will look for a house.
So, we are all excited, nervous, happy, sad all mixed into one. We are looking forward to new adventures, new memories, new friends but we are sad to leave those we love behind. We are thankful we will have family (Aunt Roz, Uncle Jerry, cousins Lisa and Michelle and their families) close by. And so thankful to cousin Michelle for hosting Matt while he was looking and waiting for a place for us to live. We are leaving our first house, the home where we brought our children home and raised them for 11 years. There are so many emotions attached to that but we are so excited for new memories!
