Kaitlyn,
Each year, as I write these letters to you, I look back and can't seem to grasp you are 4 years old. You have grown so much this past year. You had a huge growth spurt and now are a tad bit taller than your brother. You are very physical, love to jump and run, play at the park and you just completed your first year of dance class. This year you discovered your love for the pool and no longer keep a tight grip on anyone when in the water. We are working on letter and number recognition. You love to draw and are excellent at tracing letters. This past year, you have made such great progress in daycare. You are more social and love to be involved in all the activities. You express your affection with a simple "I love you" and often tell me "You my best friend." At four years of age, you continue to know what you want and have very little patience if you don't get it at that precise moment. You challenge me and your Daddy daily. Your temper is one for the books. This has not changed. You definitely have what we call an "attitude". I'd like to say these personality traits will one day make you a very determined young woman who fights for what she believes in. There are days when you and Ryan truly are the best of friends and other days when we feel like it's WW III at our house. You tend to be the "boss" and tell Ryan what to do. The two of you are a very creative team together. We love to see your friendship blossom and the loving side you show towards one another. It is a bond we hope lasts a lifetime. You are a girlie-girl and love to wear dresses, put on make-up/nail polish and do not like to get dirty. I'll never forget when I learned at our sonogram we were going to be blessed with a girl I stated, "Yeah, I got my girl." The past 4 years have gone by way too fast. May the next year be filled with all new learning experiences and challenges for you (and for us too!).
Kaitlyn, you are a special little girl who holds our heart in your hands. Happy 4th Birthday!
We love you.
Mommy & Daddy
