I finally did it, I made the leap and accepted a position as the new Activity Director at the Mansions at Gwinnett Park Assisted Living and Memory Care. I am truly excited for this change for many reasons. First off, its close to home. This was a goal of mine when we moved to Georgia. I told Matt I do not want to work more than 15-20 mins from home. I have been commuting for 30-60 mins daily (on a good day) since I started my career 22 years ago. My commute to Gainesville (Lanier Village) was not one full of traffic, it was just a long distance. When the Mansions was being built in 2019 I told myself I wanted to work there. Unfortunately, at that time, the position was already filled. When it re-opened, I jumped on it and was offered the job 2 days after my interview. It's definitely a change for me. I have been in skilled nursing home care all of my career and was now moving to assisted living. I am looking forward to the change, new routine, and new opportunities. I can't wait to see what lies ahead!
