Happy 7th Birthday to our baby girl!
As each year passes, I can’t seem to place where the time has gone. You have changed so much this past year! You continue to be that shy, little girl since the day you were born but have been coming out of your shell. To our surprise, you even expressed an interest to join cheerleading this fall! Although you still have your stubborn and “things have to be your way” side, they are equally matched with your loving and sensitive side.
First grade is coming to an end and you have met all grade level expectations and have come a long way in reading. You continue to work hard in speech therapy and although next year you will continue, it has decreased to 1x a week. The entire family is so proud of you.
You are very artistic and love to color, paint, craft, draw and create things. You enjoyed dance class this year however we are giving it up for now to try cheerleading. You continue to make up silly songs and sing “Let It Go” (from the extremely popular Disney movie “Frozen”) all day, every day. Some of your favorite TV shows are “Austin and Ally”, “Jesse” and occasionally a few cartoons (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Sofia the First). When Mommy was growing up she used to watch a show called “Full House” and now you pretty much watch it daily. Even your choice of TV shows and movies are growing up! Slow down!!
As I mentioned earlier, you have a very loving and sensitive side. Sometimes you will say things to me about Poppy or people that have passed away and it warms my soul. I love how you think about others, wanting to give things away or wanting to make something for someone else. When you are feeling a uncomfortable, you still look to us for assurance and whisper "I love you". There are still days when you need to work on your listening skills and you tend to tell people what to do when it is not your place to do so. I love seeing you and Ryan playing together, being silly, wrestling or as you say “Let’s play get married.” You fight with one another as much as you get along just like most siblings do. Just remember, he will always be your best friend, your protector and your family for life. Twins. There is no greater bond.
Mommy and Daddy love you so much Katie-Cakes. I hope you have the happiest 7th birthday there ever was to have and an even better year!
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
Love,
Mommy
