It's all Worth It in the End..right?

Today was one of those days. Holiday picture day...enough said right? You can see where this is about to go.
Kaitlyn, who is so hard to get to smile when not in the company of family, was an angel. She grinned ear to ear and would basically stay in any position we put her in.
Ryan, the one who is Mr. Personality and usually smiles at the air, was such a tough cookie today. He wouldn't sit still, he wouldn't smile, he just wanted to walk around and basically cry loud enough for the entire mall to hear him.
Our first attempt at a photo...well not going to happen. We left the portrait studio, walked around the mall, had some snacks and even a visit with Santa. For Santa, we smiled. At 17 months old, my son is smart enough to know that's the guy who will bring some presents! Cheese!
Attempt two...add in some more screaming, running around and mommy starting to give up. Enter a miracle worker. The photo studio manager. Ryan was walking around, went over to him, reached up, said "uh" (aka "up") and made a new friend. He walked around with Ryan, got him laughing and finally a few good pictures.
We decided to wait for Grandma before we ordered our pictures. Not the smartest idea, mommy was pushing it and paid for it. Screams, tantrums and an unconsolable Ryan had enough. Mommy did not get to sit and ponder over the pictures we tried so hard for. We needed to make an exit and fast. Not two minutes into the car ride out of the parking lot was their an amazing peace...sleeping babies.
Needless to say, I'll be going back, on my own, to sit and ponder over the pictures, in peace.

Gotta love holiday picture time! We did the same thing at Easter - tried twice and came back later. Isn't it amazing that they are little hams at home and will smile for all your snapshots but if you dress them up and take them out of their element, there are no smiles to be found.

Glad you got a few. Enjoy picking them out in peace, that's always fun when you're not rushed. =)
