16 Month Update

Today we went for our 15 month checkup, a month late. We split our MMR shot but when we went last month for our Rubella shot but they were backordered so we had our 15 month shots instead. Today was just a well check.

Ryan's stats are:

Weight: 26lbs 8 oz in the 70th percentile

Height: 31 1/2 inches in the 50th percentile

Katie's stats are:

Weight: 21lbs 12oz in the 25th percentile

Height:31 1/4 inches in the 50th percentile

Both are doing great. The doc reinforced trying to get Katie off the bottle. We are down to 2 sippy cups and 2 bottles a day. Most of the time the sippy cup is thrown at me or on the floor. We have been working on introducing utensils. Katie is cruising but not walking yet. She is "graduating" from PT at the end of the month because she is meeting all her milestones. Yesterday she actually walked (instead of crawling) up the stairs holding the railing. We have been working on new words and animal sounds.

Ryan says: dada, hi, daisy (usually hi and daisy are together), go, uh-oh, up (uh), and something that at times sounds like ma. Upon cues, he will roar like a lion and moo like a cow.

Katie says: dada, mom, more, daisy, tickle tickle tickle, and nite-nite. She also has quite a "roar".

On another note, Ryan is starting to show awareness of being in a doctors office and starts to scream as soon as we walk in the hallway. Being he goes for bloodwork once a month since he was born I now know he is becoming aware of the "environment" and is starting to show a fear of such. Each time it breaks my heart. Every time he gets blood drawn I tell him he is my hero.

"G-d gave us mountains to teach us to climb"...
