Birth Stats: Weight 5lbs 4 oz Length 19 inches

1 year: Weight 20lbs Length 29 1/2inches

You were a little peanut when you were born weighing in at a tiny 5lbs 4oz! You had these tiny chicken legs and a face that you had to "grow in to". Today you are 20lbs and a girlie girl. You are starting to get curly hair (wonder who you get that from!) and such an angel. You are very easy to please however when you don't get what you want, you let us know you are m-a-d. You love to look at books and just sit and play with your toys. You are working on getting mobile and haven't quite got crawling underway but you are getting there. We are so proud of you and and see how much progress you have made. You love to show off! As of today, you are waving, holding up one finger when asked "How old is Kaitlyn?", clapping hands, dancing and rubbing noses. You love dogs!! Every time Daisy comes up to you or runs around, you let out the cutest little laugh. You do that with Maggie (our neighbors dog) too. You are a champion eater, though not the best drinker. You prefer your solids to liquids. Peas, pasta, chicken, crackers, cherrios, cheese, any kind of bread, pancakes, any type of fruit and yogurt are amongst your favorite foods. You are in the lead with 5 teeth and have never shown any signs of teething (thank you!). Mommy and daddy love how when you get excited you kick your feet and make those cute breathy noises. You are so precious to us Kaitlyn and will always be our little girl. We love you.

1 Year:Weight 25 lbs Length 33 inches

My little Monkey! We can't believe our 7lb 3 oz baby boy, who is currently weighing in at 25lbs, is One! Everyday with you Ryan is an adventure. You are a mover and a shaker, always on the go. You are a speed demon, crawling all over, furniture walking and climbing stairs. We have this feeling we are going to be buying you walking shoes very soon. You get into, behind, on top of and under everything. You have been know to bulldoze through Katie more than once. Changing you and getting you dressed should be classified as a sporting event. You love to be tickled and have the best belly laugh. Watching you chase Daisy cracks us up. Like your "big" sister, you have a little temper. Recently you started waving and Grandma Joan taught you to rub noses. You're known for being a momma's boy at the moment. You want to be held when in the presence of strangers but once you warm up you seek attention from anyone. Since you were born you have always been very determined and want things when you want them and not a second later as evidenced by an ear piercing scream. You love to eat and have mastered sippy cups. Over the past year, we all have been learning about your diet and how to manage PKU. It has been challenging at times but it is a part of our every day lives. Your PHE levels have been well maintained and we have been able to introduce new foods. You love fresh veggies, especially zuchini and squash, pasta, cheerios, any type of crackers, and a favorite "free (no PHE) snack" of yours is lemon pudding. We do have to keep a close eye on you because you have stolen Katie's bottle or food from her try on a few occassions! You have 3 teeth and are on the verge of getting a few more. You have been a teething trooper although we call you a "leaky faucet". Oh, the drool! We love your big smile and seeing your whole face light up when someone or something excites you. You are a cuddle-bug and it melts mommy's heart when you lay your head on her shoulder. Mommy and daddy love you so much Monkey!

The two of you have brought mommy and daddy into a whole new world. You make us smile a liitle wider, laugh a little louder and love a whole lot stronger. Thank you for choosing us to be your "ma" and "da-da". We love you both so much.
