Brace Yourself!

And so the time has come... braces. Sort of.
Kaitlyn had the choice between braces and Invisalign and she opted for Invisalign. The advantage is she is able to eat what she would like but they have to be removed for eating and drinking. They are also more aesthetically pleasing to her.  They are just as effective as braces, cost the sane and require the same amount of time. Her treatment is approximately 18 weeks of Invisalign and then maintenance.

Ryan's road will be a little more involved. He needs to wear expanders on both the top and the bottom for approx. 6 months. After the first  few months he will have his top braces placed and then when the expanders are removed (6 months), he will get his bottom braces. The expanders will definitely be an adjustment, both speech and eating, but he is such a trooper (Grandma says so!).
