Movin' Out and Movin' South

Matt and purchased our first home in October 2004, after we got engaged. It was a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse and when we moved in we were only planning on staying for a few years but that turned into over 10 years. Our home treated us well, we had relatively good neighbors and made many memories there. This was the home we brought the twins home from the hospital too and where we spent hours upon hours watching them grow. Each day we realized we were outgrowing our space as the twins had to share a room and we knew that could not last much longer. We often looked for homes in our area but decided we didn't not want spend what homes costs as well as the astounding taxes. We knew the best thing for us and our family was to make the move to Georgia. Our home sold quickly, the process was easy going and before we knew it we were packed up (well, Matt had already been in Georgia a few months so I packed up!) and we were walking out the door one last time. I can't say I will miss this home as I was so ready to move on, but I am thankful for it's protection and it's warmth it held for us.

We spent the last evening Grandma Joan's house and had dinner with the family. It is always hard to say "goodbye" to family. I have always wanted my children to grow up around their family and cousins but also know it's the best move for us. I am beyond blessed to have been able to watch my nieces and nephew become young adults and for the twins to be close to their grandparents, aunts and uncles. It will be an adjustment for all of us, but with time, we will visit and strengthen our bonds.
