As usual, the holidays were a whirlwind. Parties, gifts, Gingerbread houses, decorating
cookies, family gatherings, letters to Santa… All was successful and magical at the same time.

The annual Lettau holiday party was on December 9th at Joanne and David’s house in New Jersey. It is always a great day and we love seeing everyone. Unfortunately this year, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were missing a few family members. We missed them and hope next year brings better health for everyone.

The four us spent a great day in NYC in December 10th. We started our morning at Max Brenner’s
restaurant (known for everything chocolate!)
It wouldn’t be a trip to NYC without stopping by Madison
Square Garden!
We visited Christmas Wonderland in Macy’s and had a nice
visit with the big guy, Santa Claus. I
am treasuring these moments because I don’t know how long they will last.
The rest of the afternoon we spent being NYC tourists. We
walked through the shops at Union Square and Bryant Park…
Took some photos in front of the well-known holiday
landmarks in NYC….
And of course visited the beautiful Rockefeller Center
Christmas Tree!
The kids were able to pick one store and pick a Chanukah
gift.
American Girl for Kaitlyn and Lego for Ryan.
The first night of Chanukah was December 12 which left a few
days in between before Christmas festivities. The twins got everything, well
mostly everything, they hoped for and more. I think the best surprise was their
laptop like tablets they got on the 8th night of Chanukah. We
surprised Ryan will a trip to Cooperstown which he said was one of the favorite
gifts. Kaitlyn was really excited over the tablet.
Christmas Eve was relatively quiet. Matt had to work until
7pm so we had a late dinner just the four of us and did our final Christmas
prep. Christmas morning the twins were up just before 7am. We changed it up
this year by opening our stockings and a few gifts then taking a break and
having breakfast. We then went back to unwrapping presents. It was nice to make
the excitement and the morning last rather than rushing through. Santa brought
the twins everything on their list plus some. Ryan was beyond happy to get the
PS4 and some games he wished for. Kaitlyn was ecstatic for her American Girl
accessories (wheelchair and crutches) and Lego Friends Hospital.
We celebrated Christmas at Nana & Opa's...
We celebrated Chanukah with the family a little late on Dec
31. As my nieces and nephews get older,
it gets harder to buy for them! I miss the days of wrapping a zillion gifts for
them and watching them rip the packages open. This was also the first year
Jessica wasn’t with us since she moved to Florida. All in all though, it is
still so important for us to celebrate with family.
Holiday celebrations for 2017 in the books! Less than 360
until the excitement begins again!
