I decided to cut down the arborvitaes in front of our home with the help of a friend.
We successfully cut down the first tree and when she went to finish taking down the second she found these beautiful Robin's eggs.

After some research, we learned each baby bird is born in the order the egg is laid .

And then we finally were able to witness one of the babies cracking through!

And the very next morning...all four were snuggled up together.

It was really cool to see how much they grew each day. Even some of the neighborhood kids would come and look. The momma/daddy bird were always close by but I was able to peek in on them with no problems.

The first bird to fly away was on June11. Unfortunately, it looked like he was taken away by a crow. The second bird actually flew into our house when Kaitlyn opened the door on June 12. Matt and our neighbor helped get it out and it flew away. So then there was two...
And one.....

We were only able to capture the last bird flying away and his first time in the grass.
And now we know where the term empty nest comes from.
