PKU...Over and Out!

It's hard to believe and we are beyond blessed and thankful to say Ryan is now discharged from his PKU geneticist and nutritionist.  His levels have been stable, he is on a unrestricted diet and he is as healthy as can be.   We are still going to have yearly blood draws just for my piece of mind but overall, it;s a closed chapter in our lives. He has not been "cured" and PKU does not just "go away" but his body is tolerating a unrestricted diet. I will never forget the fears, the strugglesto get him to eat certain foods and all the tears (shed mostly by me). Ryan, you are a brave little boy and you are my hero. This kid never!cried during blood draws! Here is a pic of him at his last official appointment.
