It has always been important to us to spend time with the twins independent of one another. Although these opportunitues are few and far between, I think it's important for both the parents and the children, whether you have twins or not. It enables us to have uninterupted time with our individual children, time just devoted to them. Matt and I took Katie on a surprise date while Ryan had a date with Grandma Joan. We took her to see "The Little Mermaid" performance at a local theatre. At first she was a little upset because she was afraid of "the bad lady (Ursula)". She even hid behind the seats when she first appeared on stage. After Katie realized Ursula was harmless, she enjoyed the rest of the show. She kept holding up her Ariel doll hoping the cast would get a glimpse. After the show and a quick meet and greet with "Ariel", the 3 of us went to lunch and enjoyed the quality time together. And yes, she did say "I miss Ryan!"
