The twins had their 3rd dentist visit today. The first two were between 2 and 3 years old and just for a quick check-up. This time was the real deal! We found a great pediatric dentist with all the trimmings-theme rooms, fun sunglasses, loads of toys in the waiting room! We had been prepping the twins for weeks on what to expect and they did awesome! Unfortunately, Daddy came down with the stomach virus but Nana Carole was able to come with us.The visit started with X-rays and although apprehensive at first, the task was accomplished.
We were then escorted into a "Spaceship" room where we met with the dental hygienist. The twins got to know "Mr. Thirsty" and his fellow dental equipment friends and then it was blast-off. They each took a turn in the chair, with mommy of course, and had their teeth cleaned. Two shiny white sets of teeth later, the twins were ready to fly solo. The dentist came in, examined their pearl whites as they sat independently in the spaceship, er chair, and gave them a clean bill of dental health. With numerous gold coins for prize machines, dental floss and new toothbrushes in hand we had landed our mission safely and with no complications. One small step for twinkie-kind!
Their dental visit coincided with dental week at Preschool. They painted these teeth with toothbrushes. Ryan told the visiting dentist all about his visit to the dentist and informed her "I did a great job!"

I want a dentist like that! My denstist could seriously use some spaceship chairs and a fun hygienist. The hygienist at the dentist I (sometimes) go to is horrible--I enjoy thwarting her at every opportunity now that we've established our mutual dislike. The dentist is fine, but most of the time I just want to stab the hygienists tires with a dental pick . . .
