I finally did it! I decided to enter the world of blogging. It's really just a way for us to keep all of our family and friends updated on what is new with our family. FAMILY- what an amazing word! Since June 13, 2007 it has had a whole new meaning to us. As you know, that is Kaitlyn and Ryan's birthday. After struggling with infertility for over a year and 3 IVF treatments, the day we learned we were pregnant, our whole life changed. The day our twins were born was one of the greatest, most amazing days in our life. They truly are a blessing to Matt and I.
Kaitlyn and Ryan are 6 1/2 months old. Yes, they may be twins but they are different in every way. Kaitlyn, the first born, is very content. She is happy just hanging around and exploring everything with her hands. She was a spitting image of Matt when she was born but some say she is starting to look like me. We are all wondering if she is going to have curly hair! Ryan on the other hand is a spitfire! He constantly is moving, rolling from place to place and is already starting to get up on all four. He loves to explore everything with his mouth and he is very ticklish. Ryan loves to eat!! Ryan and Katie are great sleepers (they get that from their mommy!). The sleep 12 hours a night and nap 2x a day. Ryan, however, is the better napper. They both love our Pug Daisy. Ever time Daisy walks by them, they start to laugh, especially Katie. She gets a kick out of this furry 4 legged animal that loves to give them kisses.
Having twins, life is never dull that's for sure. Everyone asks, " Is it hard? How do you do it?" When they were first born I asked myself, "How am I going to do it?" Trust me, I was overwhelmed. I get lots of advice from other MOM's (Moms of Multiples). I'm a member of a local Moms of Multiples Club. I get help when I need it from our family. I am very organized and try to stick to routine. I think that is key. Oh, and my children have the greatest Daddy. Matt is all hands on. He is a great husband and a wonderful daddy. Yes ladies, he does bathrooms, garbage, laundry and makes the bed! He also changes diapers, feeds them and reads to them everynight when he is home.
I hope to be able to keep up with this website quite often. I hope you enjoy reading it as much I as enjoy sharing our family with you. We wish everyone a very Healthy, Happy New Year and may all your dreams and wishes be fulfilled.

Whaaaat?? There are people out there who say Katie looks like Matt?? That's just crazy talk--Katie is very definitely YOU and Ryan is the image of MATT. As you know, I refer to any family photo of you 4 as "Dawn, Matt, and their clones."
This will be an interesting blog to follow--I'm especially interested in any developments with Ryan's PKU--how important and comforting for someone else could this be for someone else?? Ryan is such a happy boy, and they both are doing so incredibly well--I really need to schedule some time for another visit . . .
Hugs to all! -B
